Supporting Primary Health Care Providers with a Dedicated Team

Supporting Access to Telehealth

Adelaide PHN has continued to expand provision of healthdirect’s video call service to general practices, our commissioned service providers and other health care providers across our region.

This work has supported the response to COVID-19, ensuring safe access to primary health care through the provision of telehealth services across the pandemic. Ongoing, this work has helped us build capacity of primary health care providers to deliver more accessible and flexible health services.

Providing the Tools to
Improve Health Data Security and Evidence Based Care

We increased the number of digitally enabled practices in our region through the provision of fully subsidised PenCS software. Now, over 69% of our region's general practices receive a PenCS license through Adelaide PHN. This software allows practices to better analyse their data to enable targeted clinical interventions, and ultimately support better health outcomes.

We facilitated timely transfer of health information between providers by supporting access and/or use of secure messaging platforms ReferralNet and Argus.

We supported providers in delivering best practice and consistent care to their patients by offering free access to the Therapeutic Guidelines (eTG Connect).

Supporting the Roll Out of Electronic Prescribing

Following changes to electronic prescribing legislation, we have been working with general practices and pharmacies across our region to build capacity, support integration and prepare providers for workflow and system changes
